Belvoir Wassailers 2014

Soloist: Caroline Sharpe
Originally from Loughborough, Caroline studied as a post-graduate at the Birmingham Conservatoire where she won the coveted Mario Lanza Opera Prize in 2009. Her operatic roles include Nero in Monteverdi's Incoronazione di Poppea and Pamina in Mozart's Zauberflote. She is exceptionally active around the county as a performer, teacher, and conductor as well as being one of the Loughborough carillonneurs.

Soloist: Elaine Bishop
Grantham-born Elaine read music at Hull University. A regular of nearly every music society one cares to name locally, she also has worked with Peak Opera and Trent Opera at the international G&S Festival held annually in Buxton. A co-founder of Grantham Youth Theatre Society, Elaine is an experienced teacher and conducts a number of local groups.

Girls Vocal Group: Enchanted
Enchanted were formed in the Summer of 2009 and rehearse once a week to perform a wide range of repertoire from folk songs to musical theatre numbers. They perform regularly in the Loughborough area at concerts and weddings and have won trophies at both the Coalville and Leicester music festivals. Directed by Caroline Sharpe and accompanied by Chris Hill.

Singing to a packed house the Belvoir Wassailers raised the roof with their tribute to the WW1 Commemorations with a mixture of folk songs, marching songs and war poems. £500 was raised on the evening toward the Royal British Legion.
